These terms govern your subscription to The Reindeer Post ("the Service"), a publication of The Slow Mail Society. By subscribing you agree to these terms.
The subscription
The Reindeer Post is a monthly subscription that delivers a personalized letter from Santa, plus the Reindeer Gazette, a character trading card, and a Christmas Puzzles Page, in a hand-made envelope to your child's mailbox once a month, all year round.
Pricing and billing options are shown on the subscription page at the time you sign up. By subscribing you authorize recurring billing on the cadence you select (monthly or annual).
Cancellation
You can cancel anytime from your account in two clicks. Past letters that have already been mailed continue to arrive. Letters scheduled for after your cancellation will not be charged or mailed.
For monthly subscribers: if you cancel mid-month, that month's letter still ships if it has already been printed; the following months are not charged.
For annual subscribers: your remaining letters from your paid annual term continue to arrive through the end of that term. Your subscription does not auto-renew. Annual subscriptions are not refunded for unused months because the annual price reflects a discount given in exchange for a full-year commitment.
Shipping
We mail letters in the second week of each month, with the goal that they arrive in your child's mailbox by mid-month. We ship via USPS First Class within the United States.
If your address changes, update it in your account before the seventh of the month and the change applies to that month's letter. After the seventh, the letter may already be on its way; reach out via our contact form and we will catch a late update if we can.
We are not responsible for delays caused by the postal service, incorrect addresses, or events outside our control.
Refunds
Letters that have already been printed and mailed are non-refundable. If a letter does not arrive within thirty days of mailing in the United States (longer for international, when we open it), email us and we will reprint and resend it once.
Your child's information
You retain ownership of all the personalization details you share about your child. By submitting them you grant us a limited, revocable license to use them solely to write, print, and mail your child's letters and to operate the service. We do not share, sell, or use your child's information for any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Our content
The Reindeer Post characters, stories, illustrations, voice, and brand are owned by The Slow Mail Society. The letters, Reindeer Gazette, trading cards, and Christmas Puzzles Pages we send are for your child's personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or sell our content. You are welcome to keep them in a box forever and find them when your child is twenty-two.
Acceptable use
You agree not to submit information about your child or anyone else that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or infringing on another person's rights. We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel a subscription if these terms are violated.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California. If something goes wrong that we cannot resolve together, any claim will be heard in the state or federal courts of Los Angeles County, California, and both of us agree to those courts' jurisdiction. Please reach out through our contact form first so we have a chance to fix the problem before either of us has to involve lawyers.
Changes
We may update these terms. If material changes affect existing subscribers, we will email you at least fourteen days before the changes take effect.
